A YEAR IN REVIEW : GODDESS OF SCRUMPTIOUSNESS
“I don’t know what to do with my spare time (January 15, 2011)… Blog?… What kind of blog???… Duh, you’re a baker and a chef for crying out loud… post whatever you make and photograph it!… Blogspot?- Ouff, the themes and lay-out are just too confusing and I am sooo 2000late!, Wordpress?- Oh, I can’t, I forgot my Google password and I am too lazy to create a new account!, Tumblr?- looks boring on the outside… (signed up… chose a black and pink theme…) followed people Tumblr wanted me to follow (food section)… viewed my dash for the first time… OMG, it’s NARNIA!!!
1st Amateur Food Blog Girl Post- here Now that was lame! I just happened to be eating it, and since I just started a “food blog” might as well “blog” about it!
1st Food Photograph that got tagged on #FOOD page- here I have to confess, I wasn’t at all familiar with tagged pages, so when all of a sudden that post got so many notes and I gained like 20 new followers in addition to my 10 followers, my first thoughts were… Gosh, people really love chocolate and brownies!… but how did they ever found my post?… Oh well, must be my lucky day! (March 2011)
As my food posts (food photographs) got occasionally tagged by the most kind and awesome Amy Cao (amyblogschow +follow) who really supported me and this blog so much, and really took this blog out of obscurity, Tumblr (back in June 2011) suddenly emailed me and offered me to be a #FOOD EDITOR, the email said “You now got star power!” and I was like, N.O Way!!! :D :D :D and then they reconfigured my dash and added a star (beside the <3) to click for promoting other peoples food posts! So cool!!! It was the highlight of my 6-month existence as a food blog girl!!! And you all must know, that I never ever missed a single day promoting and tagging food posts of awesome food blogs. Like NEV-ERRR!
Then when Goddess of Scrump started generating traffic, I then applied for ADs - foodbuzz and amazon.com (took me like a month of waiting for their review and approval) :) Martha Stewart’s website turned me down only because this blog doesn’t meet the 100,000 cpm/month and I was like, “how can I possibly do that?” but I did received a most encouraging and positive critique of this blog from Martha’s editors… an awesome consolation really. :)
Then editors from other websites (food blog communities and recipe sites) offered me to contribute my recipes. Got the privilege to be the Featured Chef for two websites. That too was an awesome thing! :-P
By August, Amy Cao again included me on her The Next Web (TNW) list…

which until today is still getting me a couple of visitors from this site. =) I was so ecstatic and so thankful and happy! =)
And as if this food blog girl’s happy existence here wasn’t enough…
A week from being mentioned on The Next Web, Tumblr again emailed me and asked me to be on Spotlight.
I have experienced a lot of ups and downs being here… but I’ve experienced more happiness and met a lot of wonderful people (friends).
This food blog girl is just plain happy to be here and lasted a year.
Much Love,
Jeannie - Goddess of Scrumptiousness
