As much as I love to cut my fork into an insanely decadent chocolate fudge cake (not a slice but a 9-inch 2-layers of wicked cake) I also love making simple fruit snacks and desserts the kind that I can prepare in 10 minutes, bang in the oven for a couple of minutes more and find myself already munching on within the hour.
Pears are wonderful to bake, they retain their crunchiness, gets more sweeter as they bake and can certainly be eaten as snack, dessert or eaten with breakfast porridge, yogurt or even sweet component to a cheese course.
I peeled, cored and sliced these pears into quarter-inch slices. I placed the slices on a parchment lined baking tray and sprinkled a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon over the tops. I baked these in a 375’F preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until the brown sugar got caramelized and made these slices of pears almost like toffee candy.
To serve as a dessert, place on a platter and top with chopped walnuts. Short, Simple, Wholesome and Sweet.
